Per student, not per hour: pricing you can actually budget

A price you can predict at the start of term is worth more than a clever one you can only understand at the end of it.

Lab pricing has a habit of being complicated in ways that only ever favour the vendor. Bundled "units", a licence for every seat, usage tiers that reset at awkward times. By the time the invoice arrives, nobody can explain it, and nobody can plan around it next term.

One number, decided up front

StudentLabs charges a flat price for each student who registers for a lab. That is the whole platform fee. You can work out the cost of a cohort before the term starts with a single multiplication, which is exactly the kind of number a budget holder wants to see.

Your cloud is separate, and at cost

The machines run in your own Azure, so Microsoft bills you directly for the compute, at your own rates, with no markup from us sitting on top. We do not resell you cloud; we just make it easy to teach on it.

What is included for each student

  • Unlimited machines and hours for that student.
  • Windows and Linux, templates and schedules.
  • Auto shutdown so idle machines stop costing you.
  • No contracts, no minimums, no setup fees.

Idle machines power themselves down, so the cloud side stays honest too. The result is a bill with two clear lines: a predictable fee per student from us, and your real compute usage from Microsoft. Nothing hidden in between.
